Is remote work allowed at Meta?
In short, no not really. About a year ago Meta implemented a strict RTO (Return to Office) program that requires employees to be physically in a Meta office at least 3 days a week. Luckily they have lots of offices, but it's not nearly as flexible as somewhere like Airbnb.
Is it hard to get a job with Meta?
Yes, absolutely. Even seasoned tech employees have issues getting interviews at Meta due to their competitive nature.
A few things you should know about Met-- for starters, they drastically under-title. What do we mean by that? If you're going out for a job that seems "entry-level," it's probably not. You're probably competing with people who have been doing a similar job for at least a few years.
For example, normally companies require around 2-3 years of experience for a mid-level product management role. Meta usually requires 8+. This is mimicked in all departments.
Second thing: They're also one of the highest paying companies in tech. This somewhat has to do with the under-titling, but if you're lucky enough to land at AirbMetanb, you'll be paid extremely high for your title. Back to the product management example: a normal mid-level PM will be paid somewhere between 115k-140k, where at Airbnb that same role has a starting BASE PAY of 180k-230k. They also have been known to give generous bonuses and stock.
We want you to be aware of what you're getting into if you're trying to land a role at Meta. Be extremely skeptical of companies that offer bootcamps above $3,000 and promise a role here-- that is highly unlikely.

If you think you have what it takes to work at Meta, it never hurts to reach out to an employee for a referral or a recruiter to get noticed. This is especially relevant if you're looking for an internship and can find the person in charge of recruiting interns.
We recommend a premium subscription because it allows you to view more profiles and send more Inmails. This way you can locate and reach out to the exact recruiter that works on an area that hosts your target roles. Be funny, and emphasize the work you've done to match with your target role, and take feedback gracefully. Mention Meta's corevalues, and how you'd relate. A little human connection works wonders.
